New chapter, new story

Ahh Yes! it's been looooong I abandon this blog of mine. not good not good heh... So, I would like to revive it back.... lets check out some updates..

So...many were asking: where are u studying now? what are u doing now? blablabla...?

Here it is:
  • Location: UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Serdang, Selangor
  • Course: Foundation in Agricultural Science (Asasi Sains Pertanian)
  • Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture, Maths, english
  • Duration: 1 year, 3 semesters
  • Current status: 2nd semester.

It was a great experience indeed when I first step into this humongous campus...
  • beautiful paradise..
  • cooling weather..
  • greens everywhere...
  • superb facilities...
  • friendly people...
  • AIR CONDITIONED LECTURE ROOMS!! (i cant get this during my school days =__= ...)

haha, how cool is that? ...no, Not cool enough...let me tell u more!!! MORE!

Right, here's the awesome thing about studying here:
  • lecture class starts at 8am...
  • free transport service to your faculty.. 5 star rated Bus
  • free sponsor from the govt (including allowance) :D
  • 2 star Hostel... (not bad actually, there's a orchard behind, and a massive recreational park in front, fresh air everyday!yay! )
my cozy bed....

my huge wardrobe....

my messy study place...

And...
my friendly roommate... (Turga)

Over here, I get to know to a lot of new friends. I meet many students that can be catagorized as "genius" too...(which i will elaborate it later...)
Studying here has exposed me to the "new study world". And I just realized that IPTA life is totally different from school!

What I hv learned and experienced here is not about What I study here, but the most valueble lesson and experience that I hv picked up is How To Study. Yea, how irony it is. Perhaps it's different from school system, STUDY HARD doesn't guarantee you good score! Thus, it is NOT the effective method to get good grades! Yes! Trust me, I personally experienced this before (because I was the victim of study hard) and it is really true.

Besides, i got some minor lessons too:
  • How to socialize with my multiracial friends
  • How to be a good class representative :D
  • How to converse Bahasa Malaysia fluently as a Mahasiswa (Uni student)
  • How to get use in living a hostel life
  • Why can't we make too much jokes which annoy some people
  • How to differentiate types of people (straight minded, super sporting, emo quiet)

Besides that, when I came into this Uni, some unusual things I found out are:
  • Why do they name each hostel as Kolej? (college) isn't it college suppose to be a educational centre?
  • why they name the recreational park as Bukit Expo? Expo? got expo there is it? =.=
Yup, here I am....disguising as a farmer in UPM aka Universiti Pertanian Malaysia xD

Right, i should stop right here...till then...will be continue :) stay tuned....

  3. Hi Boey Jin Wern,

I have applied thro UPU. My 1st choice of studies is the UPM Foundation in Agricultural Science (Asasi Sains Pertanian). Like to ask some questions:

(1)For every new intake, what is the number of students? I heard it is 700.
(2)It seems from the photos above, very few Chinese are doing this course. Is it easy for a Chinese to get admitted for a place in UPM? Do they need to have straight As in their SPM results?
(3)Is the government sponsorship for asasi course enough for all relevant expenditures studying and living in UPM?
(4)After finishing the course, how does a student apply for a degree course in UPM? Is it true that the student can apply for any degree course including computer science in UPM?
    (5) Does the government sponsorship cover up to the first degree course?
    (6) Must the students stay in the UPM hostels? If they stay there, how free can they go in and out of the campus?
(7)What is the medium of instruction for the asasi course? Is it conducted in English or Malay?
    (8) Is there free and fast internet service in the campus and the hostels?
    (9) Are there many foreign students studying in UPM? Is UPM a good university to study in terms of quality of teaching, facilities and environment?
